The College works with the local schools to provide opportunities for pupils to come into the College to gain experience of studying in a further education college and a level 1 (Year 10) and 2 (year 11) qualification in sport. The course is delivered through practical sport / fitness lessons and a lively classroom environment typical of courses delivered in further education here at the college.

Young Apprenticeships

The Young apprentices programme is part of our school links area of work at Loughborough College. The course is for young people aged 14 – 16 (in years 10 and 11) who have a keen interest in the sport, exercise and fitness industry. On this programme you will study towards the BTEC First Diploma in Sport Studies and a Level 1 NVQ in Sport and Recreation. You will also complete a work placement in an area of the industry.

Loughborough College is working in partnership with local primary schools and the Radmoor Nursery to expand the after school sports provision for children and young people across Charnwood. We will be launching Radmoor Rascals, a physical activity and sports after school club for children aged 4-11 in September 2009. The aim of the club will be to improve the physical activity levels of children and young people in a fun, safe and enjoyable environment. The sessions will run Monday to Thursday, 4-5pm in the Radmoor Sports Hall at Loughborough College and will be delivered by a fully qualified sports coach and supported by our own sports leaders (all with CRB Checks).
